December 26, 2003 -
HayPatch, UT - Heavy snow warning, and we do mean
HEAVY. A moisture-rich Christmas snow fell this morning causing many
drought-weakened tree limbs to plummet to the ground at the HayPatch.
Green flashes of light brightened the bleary-eyed darkness of the early
morning hours as branches fell on power lines around the neighborhood.
Power on the HayPatch was out from 4am to 7am and again from 10am to 3pm.
It turns out that far too many locals were throwing
in anti-drought hopes into their Christmas Day prayers. Certainly,
Utah is still drought stricken, as droughts are rarely corrected in one
snowstorm, but today, in an exclusive interview to HayPatch News, Church
officials requested that their members moderate their anti-drought pleas
so that the much needed moisture will appear gradually for the safety of
all those living in the area.

Dave's truck was stricken by a very large
limb. It left a substantial dent in the front hood.

Andrea's was covered with snow weary
branches.

Blanketed with branches and snow. Andrea's
car suffered minor injuries, including the passenger car mirror being
stripped from the vehicle.

Picnic, anyone?
